About
Mr. Jorgensen has broad range of experience with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare and business field. Before becoming an attorney, he practiced family medicine and orthopedic surgery as a physician assistant (PA-C) for 15 years. During this period Mr. Jorgensen created and successfully operated numerous medical practices in the Los Angeles area which required the supervision of numerous physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Mr. Jorgensen has also served as a clinical medicine instructor for medical students from USC and UCLA.
Mr. Jorgensen's law practice focuses primarily on representing health care providers in various transactional and regulatory matters, including taxation (profit and non-profit), Federally Qualified Community Clinics, provider reimbursement, healthcare entity licensure, corporate compliance, board and licensure actions, fraud and abuse, administrative law actions, Medi-Cal and Medicare audits and appeals, and general business contracting. Mr. Jorgensen also provides assistance to healthcare providers in developing employment agreements, midlevel delegation and supervision, midlevel provider protocols, and physician compensation. He additionally has experience in structuring and negotiating business affiliations and relationships, including mergers, acquisitions with changes of ownership, joint ventures, corporate formation, medical practice acquisitions, hospital contracting, the development of health care networks, and a variety of other contractual arrangements. The majority of clients represented by Mr. Jorgensen include non-profit community clinics, physician medical groups, laboratories, home health agencies, hospice providers, hospitals, and IPA organizations.
Mr. Jorgensen is a member of the California State Bar, the American Bar Association's Health Law Section, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys, and the American Health Lawyers Association. He received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Western State University in 2005 where he was the Valedictorian and recipient of the business law distinguished scholar award.
